Irũngũ Houghton brings a passion, expertise and authority informed by twenty years of civic leadership and management. He is currently the Executive Director of Amnesty International Kenya.
In the last two years, he and his colleagues have been awarded Sabre Africa Award for best Public Interest Campaign of the year (2018), Public Relations Society of Kenya Award for best Public Interest Campaign of the year (2017), Lifetime Achievement Award for protecting public spaces (Architectural Association of Kenya, 2017).
He has been cited among top 100 Influencers in Africa (New African) and top 10 Communicators in Kenya (Nation Media Group).
His decade of service as Oxfam Pan Africa Director received recognition from the African Union, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development and Oxfam among others.
Irũngũ is also the Kilimani Project Foundation Chairperson.
